Activists push #resignforrester Twitter hashtag
Updated: October 2, 2011 at 10:24 am
Over the past 24 hours, news and blog reports have detailed anti-gay state Sen. James Forrester’s (R-Gaston) alleged falsification and résumé padding of medical credentials and association memberships.
In response, grassroots activists with Neighbors for Equality, which officially launches this weekend, have taken a cue from openly gay Chapel Hill Mayor Mark Kleinschmidt, who called for Forrester to resign on Thursday.
The activists have taken to Twitter to push a new hashtag and movement for Forrester to resign. If you follow local and state politics on the social network, #resignforrester is the new Twitter trend you might soon be seeing more of.
