Over the past 24 hours, news and blog reports have detailed anti-gay state Sen. James Forrester’s (R-Gaston) alleged falsification and rĂ©sumĂ© padding of medical credentials and association memberships.
Pam’s House Blend blogger Scott Rose broke the story on Thursday and qnotes reported this morning that Forrester’s membership in the Christian Medical and Dental Association could be in question.
In response, grassroots activists with Neighbors for Equality, which officially launches this weekend, have taken a cue from openly gay Chapel Hill Mayor Mark Kleinschmidt, who called for Forrester to resign on Thursday.
The activists have taken to Twitter to push a new hashtag and movement for Forrester to resign. If you follow local and state politics on the social network, #resignforrester is the new Twitter trend you might soon be seeing more of.
