Business Guild hosts DNC speaker, local activist
Scott Bishop to discuss DNC, ways LGBT community can be involved

CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Business Guild will hold its monthly meeting tonight, hosting local activist and Charlotte in 2012 Democratic National Convention Host Committee Project Manager Scott Bishop.
The monthly dinner meeting includes a meal with a cash bar.
Bishop will speak about his journey from former Bank of America employee to his current job with Charlotte in 2012, as well as his experiences working for a variety of community causes, including the Human Rights Campaign and Mecklenburg LGBT Political Action Committee (MeckPAC). Bishop will also discuss ways that LGBT community members and business owners can be involved as the convention comes to town.
The meeting will be held at The LGBT Community Center of Charlotte, 820 Hamilton St., Charlotte, NC 28206. Cocktails begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. The speaking program begins at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $20 and includes appetizers, dinner, dessert and tea.
