UNCC to award $4,000 in LGBT youth grants

CHARLOTTE — The University of North Carolina-Charlotte Department of Social Work has announced it will award more than $4,000 in grant funds to Mecklenburg County non-profit organizations serving LGBT youth.
The funds are made available through a partnership with social work students and faculty, Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund and Campus Compact through the Students4Giving program. The 2012 focus of Students4Giving is to support the inclusion, safety, well-being, mental health and development of school-age LGBT youth.
Applications are due by 1 p.m. on July 12. For more information, email students4giving@uncc.edu.
