Tonight: Free media training workshop for non-profits and small businesses

CHARLOTTE — A free media training workshop will be hosted by qnotes at the LGBT Community Center of Charlotte tonight, Monday, Aug. 20, 6:30-8 p.m.
The short workshop will cover topics helpful to all non-profits and small businesses looking to engage the media, including how to write and distribute press releases and media advisories, how to communicate a d follow-up with journalists and local media, media best practices and messaging, and how to take advantage of the exposure a well-crafted media strategy can create for your non-profit or small business.
The LGBT Community Center is located at 820 Hamilton St., Suite B11, Charlotte, NC 28206.
The workshop is presented as a part of the 2012 Pride Charlotte Week, which began Aug. 17 and culminates this weekend with the Pride Charlotte Festival, Aug. 25-26, in Uptown Charlotte. qnotes is a sponsor of the event.
