CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Any of the internet’s billions of users who want to explore Charlotte on Google Earth will get a small peek at Pride Charlotte, the Queen City’s annual LGBT Pride festival.
The newest satellite images used by Google’s earth-mapping software were taken on the morning of Aug. 24, 2012, as Pride Charlotte’s two stages and vendors were setting up for this year’s two-day festival just one weekend prior to the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
Visit Gay Charlotte‘s Mark Wisniewski was among the first to notice and send a heads up to qnotes.
Screenshots of the satellite images are below. The snapshots aren’t super-detailed but you can get a somewhat better look at the birds-eye view of the festival by searching for Charlotte on Google Earth and zooming in to Uptown’s S. Tryon St. Don’t have Google Earth? Download it here. The satellite images are also available on Google Maps. They can be viewed when zoomed in but only when Google Maps’ 45-degree option is turned off.
