Former Bennett College prez honored at HRC Atlanta dinner

Dr. Johnnetta B. Cole, former president of Spelman College and Greensboro’s Bennett College, was honored with the National Ally for Equality Award at the Atlanta Human Rights Campaign dinner on May 2.
Dr. Cole currently serves as chair of the Johnnetta B. Cole Global Diversity and Inclusion Institute at Bennett College for Women. She is an immediate past chair of the United Way of America Board of Trustees and serves on the United Way of Greater Greensboro Board of Directors. She is a member of Detla Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Dr. Cole has spoken out in favor of hate crimes legislation and marriage equality for same-sex couples.
