Charlotte Royals in top place for online jersey contest
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Royals Rugby Football Club is in top place for a Facebook contest for new jerseys this season.
With over 2,000 votes, the Royals, a local LGBT and LGBT-friendly rugby sports team, leads by a slight margin over the second-highest vote-getter, the Idaho State University Bengals.
The contest, from Caterbury North America, required teams to submit group photos. Users and fans have been voting for their favorite teams.
Monday is the last day to vote.
