SC Pride has announced nationally-recognized drag entertainer RuPaul will be their headline entertainer for their Sept. 20, 2008 SC Pride festival in Columbia. RuPaul, a diva of the stage and screen, has a career spanning 30 years, from her hit TV show on VH1 “The RuPaul Show” to her upcoming LOGO TV series “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
She is perhaps most famous for her hit single “Supermodel” and her appearances in several music videos with hit entertainers such as Elton John, Diana Ross and Martha Wash. Recently, RuPaul debuted her new movie, “Starrbooty — The Movie,” now available on DVD.
RuPaul was the inaugural VIVA GLAM spokesperson for the M·A·C AIDS FUND, a foundation that has raised over $100 million dollars to-date to help fight HIV and AIDS around the world. For more information on SC Pride, visit www.scpride.org.
