Parade nets nearly 3,000 participants

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Pride Festival and Parade, held from Aug. 15-16, topped their previous records in both attendance and alcohol sales, according to a press release dispatched from the organization.

An estimated 115,000-120,000 people were in attendance based upon increased sales of alcoholic beverages which were up by 20 percent over last year.

On Saturday, Estelle performed, even in light of rain that hit the festival in the early evening. Billy Gilman hit the stage on Sunday and rocked it out as one of the last acts to close out the festival.
