GGF supports training program
GREENSBORO — On Oct. 15, the Guilford Green Foundation (GGF) presented Equality NC Foundation (ENCF) with a grant at the group’s annual granting ceremony. The $3,075 grant will support ENCF’s work to to identify and train a group of talented young activists in the Triad area.
“Guilford Green Foundation has long been an important community partner in our work,” said Ian Palmquist, ENCF’s executive director. “We are honored to be among the recipients of this year’s grants.”
Other recipients are: N.C. A & T University (A.W.E.) $2,700, Safe Zone for the A & T Campus; N.C. A & T University (A.W.E.) $300, general operating expenses; Alamance Cares, $2,000, HIV/AIDS outreach in Alamance County targeting minorities; Alternative Resources of the Triad (A.R.T.), $3,000, support for Triad Pride 2010; Bennett College, B.R.I.D.E., $2,000, B.R.I.D.E. Forum Series; Elon University Office of Sponsored Programs, $3,000, development of LGBTSA Conference; Gay, Straight Advocates for Education (GSAFE), $1,000, follow up training workshop for educators; Joseph’s House, Inc., $4,000, emergency housing assistance program for LGBT youth; National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ) Triad, $3,700, full day of LGBT and gender issues programming during each Anytown; New Garden Friends School, $500, educational training and library resources; Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays Greensboro (PFLAG), $1,700, Conference for Leadership Development; PFLAG, $700, marketing; PFLAG, $580, YouthSAFE Project, social networking for LGBT teens; Positive Wellness Alliance, $3,000, HIV/Aids case management in Davidson County; Triad Friends, $2,500; Triad Friends House operating expenses; Triad Health Project, $8,000, client services program; UNCG PRIDE, $1,000, support for annual UNCG PRIDE! activities; University of North Carolina-Greensboro (UNCG) Speech and Hearing Center, $5,000, Southeastern Symposium on Transgender Health; and UNCG Wellness Center, $2,125, Safe Zone for UNCG Campus.

Bigger than life
GREENSBORO — Lennie Gerber and Pearl Berlin are currently gracing billboards throughout the city in the latest Triad Equality Alliance (TEA) campaign.
TEA’s objective is to showcase through photography that members of the LGBT community are just like everyone else.
Gerber and Berlin will be on hand at the Equality NC Gala. They will be providing a special presentation.
