Rent it!

CHAPEL HILL — Company Carolina, an unaffiliated student-run theater troupe on the campus of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, mounted a production of “Rent” on Nov. 6-8 and 12-14 at the school’s Forest Theatre.

This group exists in part on general funding from the Student Congress. In the last number of years, it has had to subsist on a miniscule budget.

“Rent” was an ambitious effort. Company Carolina sought support from the community in order to help defray costs.

Game’s on

HILLSBOROUGH — A game night for LGBT identified people and their allies takes place on the second Friday of each month from 7:30-11 p.m.

The event is smoke-free, alcohol-free, drug-free and provides a much needed social outlet for a fun-filled evening playing board games.

Light snacks are made available. Donations are accepted.
