RALEIGH — Twenty-five young activists will stop in North Carolina this week to visit two Baptist colleges. The youth are working with Soulforce on its fourth Equality Ride. Started in 2006, the Equality Ride takes young adults to Christian colleges and universities which discriminate against LGBT students.

During their few day stay in North Carolina, the youth will visit Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest on March 17 and Campbell University in Buies Creek the day after. While there, they will discuss issues of homosexuality and the Scripture and challenge the schools’ positions on LGBT students and faculty and the place of LGBT people in the life of the church. Both are affiliated with the North Carolina Baptist State Convention.

This year’s Ride started March 4 and will continue through the end of April. Southeastern and Campbell are the group’s fourth and fifth stops.
