Local gay doc featured in student film fest

CHARLOTTE — A student documentary taking a look at some of the key establishments of Charlotte’s LGBT community and gay life in the city will be featured among other student creations at the Art Institute of Charlotte’s film festival on Tuesday, Sept. 9.

“Manifesto: Kino Lux” will be presented at the McGlohon Theatre of the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $7 at the door.

The local gay documentary — produced, filmed and edited by student Lyn Thompson — will be shown with other films. Q-Notes staff including Editor Matt Comer, Associate Editor David Stout, Account Executive Kat Read and former staff writer Jack Kirven are featured in the film.
