Friends and family of Edward Jones will gather July 31 to pay special tribute to a man much beloved among Charlotte’s LGBT community. Jones. 40, passed away on July 1. A funeral and memorial service was held July 5.
A staple in the Queen City’s party and philanthropic scene, Jones could be seen spinning the tables at both major and minor nightlife and fundraising events alike.
Born June 3, 1970 in Brevard, N.C., Jones later attended Brevard College and Appalachian State University. He later moved to Charlotte, where he worked at Furniture Land South and Dickens Mitchener Associates.
A special tribute, “LOVE,” with DJ Andy Kastanas, will be held July 31, 10 p.m.-4 a.m. at 300 N. College (formerly The Forum). Admission for 18+ is $15. 21+ admission is $10.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Edward Jones Scholarship Fund at the Penland School of Crafts.
