N&R fires back at anti-gay criticism

Greensboro’s News & Record published a guest commentary by LGBT philanthropist Bob Page on Sunday.
In response, a reader offered their criticism and said Page’s piece “attempts to make being gay seem OK,” according to editorial page editor Allen Johnson.
Allen posted this on his blog today:
A gay columnist? How dare we!
A caller left a message complaining that Bob Page’s Sunday Ideas piece attempts to make being gay seem OK.Page’s piece was about the threat of bullying, especially of young people by other youth simply because they’re gay .
Wonder where kids learn that kind of stuff?
