"Powerful and Provocative" – New York Times

In 1934 Berlin on the eve of the Nazi incursion, Max, a grifter and his lover Rudy are recovering from a night of debauchery with an SA trooper. Two soldiers burst into the apartment and slit their guest's throat, beginning a nightmare odyssey through Nazi Germany. The journey ends with Max and his new acquaintance Horst being taken to a concentration camp at Dachau where branded by the "pink triangle", hope to survive with each other.

BENT is an inspiring, compelling and powerful drama set in Germany on the eve of WWII at the time when homosexuals were sent to concentration camps. Considered worldwide a theatrical masterpiece, BENT explores love, hope and dreams in the face of persecution and terror.

Martin Sherman's BENT took London by storm in 1979 when it was first performed by the Royal Court Theatre, with Ian McKellen in the role of Max. The play moved later to Broadwaywith Richard Gere in the lead role and produced ever since throughout the world with great success.
