Drag Rag
Greetings, kiddies. Here I am, burning the midnight oil again, trying to get another Rag “in the e-mail” before I get fired from a volunteer job. Ha! Worse things have happened, so…
Oh, my gosh — let’s see what I can mess up this time! I must have been tapping away while I was falling asleep that last time — all this talk about going to the formers show in Hickory for Miss NC U.S.of A., and didn’t even mention the results! Saywhat? Seems like I missed something else, too — I’ll figure it out shortly.
Hey everybody — here I am working on another late submission of the Rag. Just as I promised before, we get a promo of Luscious, the only Carolinian to win Miss Gay U.S.ofA. Too bad it’s 10 months into her reign.
Greetings, gentle readers — is that love in the air I sense, or just Latino sweat from the nearby soccer field? LOL! I hope this finds everyone doing well in this second month of 2012 (Leap Year, no less!)
Well, Happy New Year, kiddies. My, my, my — 2012 is off to a great start. Life is truly great and I’m ready for some good drag and some good pageantry as well.
Season’s greetings, boys and girls! Where has the time gone? Here we are at the end of another year of shows and pageants. What will 2012 hold? Who’s to say? I think it will be a fierce year of comebacks and maybe a good new queen or two. Let’s hope for the best!
Well, chirrens, you know the drill…we meet again to discuss pageants and the goddesses who do them.
Well, hi kiddies! Happy Fall — heavy pageant time! Can’t wait. Our photo this time is of Alana Steele of Indianapolis, the reigning All-American Goddess who’ll be in Charlotte in December for the NC prelim.
Well dammit, Janet — here I sit, rounding up the tea for yet another Drag Rag. What a time it has been since the last one. And, the pageants are still coming at me. By the time you read this, I will already have been to the Miss Gay Southeast America pageant down at the Hide-A-Way in Rock Thrill. That’s where we’ll pick up the next time.
Oh, kids, I swear. This Rag is going to look like a list of Who’s Who in contests, I guess. It shall be chocked full of info. I wonder what I save for the next time? Let’s see.
Oh my goodness, kiddies, here I am sweating like a ‘ho in church. I always hate the summers in this part of the state, so it was with great pleasure that I was in Asheville just last weekend (along with my good friend Richard) to judge the last prelim to Miss NC America, Miss Western at O’Henry’s. Only thing is there was just one contestant, so Anjelica Dust took home the crown after she presented her categories in the show, and insisted we judges interview her for practice. One smart cookie!
Welcome back friends, and Happy late 4th (by the time you read this)! Hope you made some fireworks of your own. I come to you again with some things that I’m excited to talk about, like new pageants and new people.
So, it’s not many times that I can say I’m actually excited to be writing the Rag. I’ve enjoyed doing it, but it’s a monthly thing for me and has been for many years. But, when you have two national titleholders living in your home state, that’s cause for celebration, in my opinion.
Howdy folks, and welcome back to my column where we chit-chat about pageants and the queens who do them. I did want to start with a little oversight from the last time, like I always do! Seems I always forget something. When I was at the Miss NC U.S.ofA. pageant [...]
“Hey y’all!” as one of my favorites, Paula Deen, would greet her folks. And, welcome back to my little neck of the woods — here since the fall of 1996! Oh my goodness, that’s a lot of drag and pageants. This time, I will talk about the three main pageants that I mentioned going to in the last Rag and, also, start off with a show that I failed to mention.
Hello kiddies — here we are again, back to talk about contests and the girls (and sometimes guys) who do them. I hope this finds everyone doing well and ready for spring and the time change that’s upon us as well. Oh, boy! Longer nights — can’t wait! Ha!
Miss Della dishes on two Carolina girls, as she laments her absence from the social media scene: “I sit here owing my editor a story on two NC girls, one current and one from the past, who are making waves and are in the headlines,” she writes, “but have not gotten in touch with either one because I’m not partaking of the social networking tools of today.
Happy New Year, kiddies! I hope this finds everyone off to a great start. As 2011 rolled in, I was at The Asylum in Gastonia (which has since closed) with my 2 sisters Brooke Divine LaReese and Brandonna Dupri as they did a show with Serena Nox of Johnson City, TN. Nothing like welcoming a new year in with friends you’ll probably spend much time with in the coming days.
Season’s Greetings, kiddies — hope everyone is managing to stay warm somehow! Our common interest brings us back once again as we chit-chat about contests and the queens who do them!
Gather ‘round, kiddies — the Thanksgiving table, that is! Let’s pour tea about some contests that have taken place recently, but I’ll also mention some shows that I’ve seen, too.
