TOY sets training sessions

CHARLOTTE — Time Out Youth will hold its next volunteer training on July 9, 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m., at 1900 The Plaza. Lunch will be provided. Email RSVPs to Melanie Pace at mpace@timeoutyouth.org.

On July 12, 3-6 p.m., youth who are interested in participating in the organization’s Speakers Bureau are asked to attend a training session. Email RSVPs to Laurie Pitts at lauriepitts@timeoutyouth.org.

Center offers new service

RALEIGH, N.C. — The LGBT Center of Raleigh is keeping up with technology! It now offers text alerts of events and happenings and last minute reminders.

Text “getext LGBT” to 368674 and reply “1” and then “yes” to subscribe. Standard rates apply.

In other news, the center’s library is opening next month and they are looking for donations of books, magazines, DVDs and CDs to help fill their growing resource collection. Contributions are tax-deductible. For more information, email erin@lgbtcenterofraleigh.com.

Talking about donations, the center is also looking for a flip video camera, commercial water fountain and landscape gift cards or materials. Bring items to the center at 411 Hillsborough St.
