DURHAM, N.C. — An accident knocked out power to the Carolina Theatre on Friday evening and brought the night’s N.C. Gay & Lesbian Film Festival’s screenings to a halt, according to a statement posted on the theater’s website Saturday.
Two films were being screened when a pick-up truck struck a transformer one block north of the building. A later slate of film screenings were also canceled.
As of Saturday morning, all power had been restored to the theater.
Ticket holders can exchange their tickets for Friday’s canceled and abbreviated screenings for other events in the festival throughout the weekend. Additional screenings of those films cut short have also been planned. Tickets must be exchanged in person at the Carolina Theatre.
