On Thursday, Oct. 20, millions of people will wear purple to celebrate Spirit Day, a day of support for LGBT youth and a chance to speak out against bullying. In 2010, teenager Brittany McMillan started Spirit Day in response to the several young people who had taken their lives.

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation is leading organizing for Spirit Day this year. They’ve organized celebrities, non-profits and even businesses like Facebook, Google and Apple to participate in the day.

qnotes is proud to go purple on Spirit Day. As you can already see, we’ve purpled our logo and our site’s background. It will remain purple in recognition of Spirit Day through Friday.
