At the beginning of the month, we reported on a new pro-LGBT equality ad campaign that would be hitting The Charlotte Observer‘s website this month.

We noticed this morning that the ads had finally appeared. Screenshot below, click to enlarge. Article exploring the ads here.

  1. A question for the previous two commenters, Mo Hardin and Maiden:

Why does the idea of someone else living a happy, fulfilled life with the person that he or she loves make you so angry? Are you so miserable and filled with hatred that you want everyone else to feel the same way?

I am a happily married, straight man. I want anyone, gay or straight, to be able to experience the joy of being married to the love of ones life, just as I have. I feel sorry for anyone whose mind is so closed and bitter that they wish unhappiness on others who have done no harm to them.

  2. I don’t have a problem with the ads. I do have a problem about not being able to opt out. To get rid of them.

Tolerance is a 2 way street. You have to accept the fact that I disagree with your lifestyle choices. You have to accept me as much as you want acceptance for doing what you are doing.

What that means. Is I don’t care. I don’t want to see it. Interact with it, or be a part of it.

That means i dont want to see it on TV. I dont want to see in movies. I dont want to see it ads that i can’t turn off.

There should be an option for me to turn your lifestyle off and not be exposed to it.

I am not saying that you should stop what your doing or that its wrong, but i should have an option to remove it from my life.

  3. Let them marry. They should be as miserable as the rest of us.
I agree with Chris though. I don’t want their lifestyle in my face each way I look.

  4. The people here so opposed to having lifestyles flaunted before them I ask Why? This world as crazy a quilt as it is, singling out gays for a smirk’s fickle.

  5. Only LGBT ? You BIGOTS! You forgot the QLMNROP!

And what about the Bes (to distinguish them from the other B)? You know, the Bestiophiles?
and wait! What about the P’s? You know, pedophiles are people too! Shouldn’t THEY be allowed to love?

I swear, people are SOOOO hung up on sex. Everything should be allowed to love everything else.

Dolphins, elephants, fungus, knot holes, little boys, it’s all the same.

If a man wants to marry his gerbil, who are you to judge? Crazy bigots!

    -Ken

  6. All of these intollarant self-rightious haters spew so-called “love”, as long as it is all on their terms & fits their views. But, let anyone different from them ask for the same rights & they all turn onto bashing nazis. Isn’t it how funny & ironic that the so-called fundamentalists work ? And yes, I am also a straight male. Hatred IS fear & ignorance.

Obviously, your version of Christ’s teachings are as blind as your ignorance.

  7. So many “straight” people reading the gay paper. Curious as how the people on the other side of the fence live?

  8. To all of my straight friends, If I’m doing wrong God will let me know on my judgement day. I can only feel that God intended me to be who I am. Jesus said Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
