NEW YORK, N.Y. — The New Yorker celebrated the Supreme Court rulings on the federal Defense of Marriage Act and California’s Proposition 8 with a distinctive and special cover for its July 8 & 15, 2013, print edition. The cover was released by the magazine on June 28. “It’s amazing to witness how attitudes on gay rights have evolved in my lifetime,” Jack Hunter, the artist of the image, entitled “Moment of Joy,” told the publication. “This is great for our kids, a moment we can all celebrate.”
