Friday: Deadline to register to vote for city primaries

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Friday is the last day you have to register to vote in this year’s municipal primaries scheduled for Sept. 15.

The primaries will determine a large number of seats on City Council and other offices. That’s especially true for Democratic candidates and seats in largely Democratic districts. This year’s Charlotte mayoral races include six candidates and a large slate of candidates are seeking to grab four at-large seats on City Council.
