The Washington Post recently posted a video featuring Charlotte transgender woman Lara Americo, as well as other members of the local trans community and their allies, fighting back against HB2. The video features interviews with Americo, as well as footage with her girlfriend Joanne Spataro and friend Che Busiek as they prepare for the Transgender Day of Visibility Rally, held at the Mecklenburg-Government Center on March 31. Footage from the rally is also included.
Americo’s QNotes cover is shown just before the one and a half minute mark. You can read that story here.
Americo was also featured in our recent article, “Hopes shared by local trans individuals.”
