Regional: Advocacy day registration open

RALEIGH, N.C. — The NC Speaks on Jones Street: North Carolina HIV/AIDS Advocacy Day will be held on April 25 at the North Carolina General Assembly. This date is a schedule change due to a legislative break which was previously reported.

Advocates from across the state and the South will gather at the N.C. History Museum and will head out from there. Registration is at 8 a.m. Advocacy and issue training will follow at 8:45 a.m. During the afternoon, participants will meet with legislators to talk about important issues in HIV and viral Hepatitis treatment and prevention.

Registration is free, however contributions of $10 or $25 are appreciated to help defray costs. Visit the website to learn more and to register. Hotel information is also available for those who are from out of town. Book rooms by March 24 in order to receive the special rate of $109/night at the Raleigh Holiday Inn, 320 Hillsborough St.

An advocacy after hours will round out the day’s activities at 5 p.m. at the District, 317 W. Morgan St. #117.
