GREENVILLE, S.C. — MCC of the Upstate, on Feb. 7 at a specially-called congregational meeting at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1925 Pelham Rd., charged its members of the board to work toward a peaceful closure of its church body. It did so after voting “their collective spiritual conscience on the matter at hand.”

At the meeting, the 13 members in attendance voted on option two (of three) which allowed for closure of the church as an MCC organization, thus allowing its members to decide freely where and when to make their new spiritual home.

The board, along with Rev. Jane Nelson and Rev. Elder Darlene Garner, will work in a timely manner toward completion of all necessary business and spiritual transactions.
