Ronnie Paulley, a Gastonia actor and former “American Idol” hopeful, will be performing as an opening act to a “famous singer” at this year’s Pride Charlotte festival. He’s looking for folks to sing with him or act as backup dancers.

Who this “famous singer” is exactly we don’t know, although Pride Charlotte’s website includes four names as entertainers this year: Pepper Mashay, SK8, Richard Cortez and homegrown local and Nashville, Tenn. resident Gordon Roqué.

Anywho… auditions for Paulley’s backup singers and dancers will be held July 24, noon-2 p.m., 420 W. Main Ave. in Gastonia. To audition, dancers should prepare a 2-5 minute presentation with your music of choice. Singers should prepare a song to perform. Ages 18+ only (16-17 year olds will audition separately.
