Among other questions, students were asked about Adam Lambert, queer vampires, FOX News, “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” and gender-neutral bathrooms. The Human Rights Campaign asked youth to respond “epic win” or “epic fail” about LGBT-related topics at this year’s Campus Progress national conference.
Of course, absent from the list was HRC itself, which advertises that you can nominate your own equality wins or fails on their website. I would have to give them a fail this year, if only because their weekly tree-killing fundraising letters still haven’t stopped arriving in my mailbox after declining twice by phone to contribute again.
