Kids and teens, harness your artistic decision-making through caricature drawing! Charlotte-based artist Lo’Vonia Parks will virtually teach 11 to 16 year-old students the fundamentals of drawing faces along with the history and techniques of the caricature style. Later in the week, students will develop their own caricature drawings with the use of color while increasing their drawing speed. Kids and teens, mix the perfect colors for paintings! Charlotte-based artist Irisol Gonzalez will virtually teach 11 to 16 year-old students paint mixing techniques and color theory as a foundation to enlarge or compress reference images into their art through gridding. Students will produce individual works of art that will incorporate collaging, paint mixing, gridding, and symbolic language to tell their unique stories. Alumnus artist Tom Thoune (Summer–Fall 2001, Fall 2005) will virtually teach 11 to 16 year-old students lifelong skills for improving their watercolor paintings.
