A joint statement of the affinity chambers of commerce in Mecklenburg County was sent to Mayor Vi Lyles and Commissioner George Dunlap, Chair of the Mecklenburg County Commission last Friday, calling on local officials to take action in support of small business.

At a recent meeting of the LGBTQ Elders Steering Committee, co-chair Cindy Hostetler said, “Every LGBTQ organization today (in Charlotte, N.C.) ties back to Dan Kirsch.” Kirsch died suddenly on Friday, Feb. 21. He was 66.

Lesbian author Paula Martinac will speak about her novel, “The Ada Decades,” on June 18, the Charlotte LGBT Chamber of Commerce will hold its Pride in Business Expo on June 26, Carolina Voices’ 18-member ensemble Impromptu will present its “Creative A Cappella” season finale concert on June 23 and the Charlotte Pride Band has a new artistic director, Dr. John Ross, and an assistant director, Cameron Elliott.
