Charlotte is one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S. according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The Charlotte metropolitan area is home to about 2.4 million people. In other words, running the city means making policy decisions that impact a lot of people.
On Sept. 10, a primary election for the offices of mayor and city council will take place in Charlotte, N.C. plus a special election in the 9th Congressional District. A primary runoff is scheduled for Oct. 8 should the need arise. The city’s general election for mayor, and city council will take place on Nov. 5.
