During this time of shelter-in-place, many in our community are facing unprecedented feelings of isolation and depression. These simple acts of kindness can brighten what seems like a mundane existence.
Because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the vital importance of social distancing (a concept that went from zero to 100 in two weeks), a vast array of live interactions are now off-limits. It’s the only way to slow the inevitable progress of the virus as it burns its way through the population. But people are still alive and raring to go.
The city of Charlotte stands out in the state as not only its most populated place, but also one of the most liberal and LGBTQ-friendly. A queer visitor can find places aplenty for food and fun here in Charlotte, but locals’ loyalty lies with unofficial “gayborhoods” like Plaza Midwood, NoDa and SouthEnd.
