The Freedom Center for Social Justice will hold its inaugural Liberating Theologies Conference on Oct. 6.
A longtime leader of the progressive movement, Rev. Dr. William J. Barber of the NAACP of North Carolina will step down as leader of the state’s chapter to focus on a revival of Dr. King’s 1967-8 Poor People’s Campaign. The New Poor People’s Campaign under Rev. Barber will renew the spirit of “moral movement” and activism.
