Village Hearth Cohousing is moving closer to becoming a reality now that it has completed design workshops and met its new neighbors, The LGBT Center of Raleigh has released five of the six 2017 award recipient names for its Oct. 6 awards gala, the Equality North Carolina 2017 Equality Gala will be held on Oct. 21, he annual AIDS Walk & 5K Run will take place on Oct. 21 and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Health Care and School of Medicine are offering over 50 different online, on-demand, continuing medical education and educational unit training courses targeted at LGBTQ patient-centered care.

The American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina has announced that Yusef Salaam will be its keynote speaker at its Justice for All Liberty Awards Dinner to be held on Oct. 14, Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays Triangle is seeking signatures and contributions for its annual Independent Weekly ad that will run on Sept. 27, Two plays are being presented onstage during September across the Triangle which have LGBTQ themes and storyline and the Central NC Pagan Pride Days Festival will be held from Sept. 16-17.

The Triangle Gay Men’s Chorus has hired a new artistic director, Michael J. Kroeplin to oversee musical direction of the chorus’ 23rd concert season, The Crape Myrtle Festival will hold its Grand Gala on July 29, 7 p.m., at the Contemporary Art Museum and SAGE Raleigh has hired a new program director, Joseph Wheeler, for the organization.
